The Kite Runner

The Kite Runner is one of those hard-to-put-down novels. At least it was for me as Khaled Hosseini weaved his tale, pulling me into the gentle tension that undergirds every page until the sober, dare I say cathartic, resolution. Two boys from different social classes. Two fathers as different as mountain is from valley. One secret that was held on to for way too long. I'm not going to tell you any more except to say I felt I had lived in Afghanistan for a time. I can only hope my novels will contain a hint of what Hossein accomplishes in his.
